Aerex Industries, Inc. is an ASME Code authorized steel fabrication facility possessing the “U”, “S” & “R” ASME Certificates of Authorization. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. High quality welding utilizing the GTAW, GMAW & FCAW processes.
2. Fitting and welding of component parts, equipment, piping systems and vessels as specified by procedures, detailed fabrication drawings, written work orders and verbal instruction.
3. Operate and/or use related fabrication equipment and tools including but not limited to forklifts, hoists, overhead cranes, cutting torches, power hand tools, and measuring instruments.
4. Read, comprehend and follow job order specifications, drawings, work instructions, and procedures.
5. Perform and understand basic mathematical and problem solving skills.
6. Report safety related issues and violations to management.
7. Perform or assist with other fabrication duties as requested by management.
8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies.
9. Discuss ideas and thoughts for improving work environment, quality and / or production with management.

Job Functions:

1. Perform job functions in the standing position as well as other physical positions as needed to accommodate restrictive weld locations.
2. Ability to pass welder qualification test in accordance to ASME Sect. IX, AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.6 utilizing the GTAW, GMAW & FCAW processes.
3. Flexibility to work additional hours if needed to accommodate demanding delivery schedules.
4. Perform work in a heavy industrial environment.
5. Ability to wear the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses, safety boots, face shield, full welding operator protection gear and respiratory protection equipment as needed.
6. Ability to use a variety of hand tools and devices applicable to metal, FRP and plastic fabrication.
7. Ability to accurately read and comprehend linear and circumferential measuring equipment.
8. Basic math skill to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division ranging from whole numbers to fractions and decimals. Ability to utilize trigonometry for layout and fitting is a bonus.
9. Knowledge of welding symbols, fabrication layouts and drawings.
10. Work cohesively with coworkers and management.
11. Reliable attendance.
12. Perform work safely in accordance with all Company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. Five years welding experience required.

Essential Qualifications

1. Must successfully pass a welder qualification test requiring a full penetration butt groove weld on 2” –Sch. 40 stainless steel pipe in the 6G position utilizing the GTAW process.
2. Able to pass drug screen and background check.
3. Ability to meet the physical demands required to perform job functions.
4. Must have dependable transportation for commute to and from work.
5. Adept at problem-solving. Adaptable to new situations and challenges. Open to changes and new ideas.
6. Ability to satisfactorily work alone and willingness to work with others respectfully and professionally in a team environment.
7. Ability to communicate.
8. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
9. Ability to handle the stress that accompanies production standards, fast pace environment and deadlines.
10. Ability to accept constructive criticism and make subsequent adjustments, and willingness to rework incorrect tasks completed by oneself and / or others.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to communicate and exchange accurate information. The employee frequently is required to walk; stand; sit; use foot/feet; use hand/foot controls; use both hands to finger, handle, feel, grip, or drive; use fine finger ability; use wrist motion; reach above/below shoulders; carry with hands and arms; step up/down, climb or balance; and bend/stoop, twist, squat/crouch, kneel, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and hand-eye coordination.

Primary work assignment will require employees to frequently push/pull/lift from the floor or the table, and lift from table to shoulder level, up to 45 pounds. Employees may occasionally push/pull/lift below or above shoulder level greater than 45 pounds if they are physically able to safely do it. Employees are encouraged to use caution at all times when pushing/pulling/lifting. Employees should never lift more than they are physically able to handle safely.
